A Place to Stand is an invitation to take a personal journey of growth and exploration in the company of other Men.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
You are probably someone who feels their life is off track, either a little, or a lot. You might have lost sight of where you are going.
You probably have a desire to live a life which is in alignment with who you are, and what you have to offer. In all likelihood, you probably want to make a difference, but are trapped in a job/career/situation which offers no sense of this.
You may want to change track, but have no idea where to even start. You are probably someone used to working things out for yourself, but right now, you don’t even know where to begin. In short, you might feel a bit lost.
As any traveller knows, the wisest thing to do when you’re lost is to stand still. Take stock. Get the lay of the land. Find out what shape you are in, what you need to leave behind, and what you need to move forward.
Where you are right now, is the perfect place to start.
WHY THIS? WHY NOW?
We find ourselves going through a period of great uncertainty, in a world which is unrecognisable from what it was before. It’s a time of great change, but one which presents a great opportunity, to live a life which is aligned with who we are, how we want to live.
If you’re anything like me, you might be entering this period with a degree of trepidation… with talk about ‘returning to normal’ even creating a sense of dread. Perhaps the ‘old normal’ is the last thing you want to return to.
I believe now is THE time, THE opportunity, to play an active role in creating YOUR ‘new normal.’ A life which is aligned with who you are, the direction you want to be heading in, the journey you want to be taking, each and every day.
…and at the same time, one which makes you AVAILABLE to what life has in store for you.
Take a break from ‘going it alone’
ABOUT THE COURSE
The course will cover three main aspects:
Self Discovery: Getting to know who you are, as ‘the Traveller.’
Mapping the Territory: Where you are standing, where you come from, what you are carrying. What's worth keeping, what you can let go of.
Charting your Course: Connecting with your vision. Mapping the way forward.
It will enable you to:
– deepen your connection with yourself, who you are, where you come from, where you are going
– explore key themes which will help you re-orient yourself
– acquire tools and resources which will support you on your journey
– explore your deeper purpose, becoming more available to what life has in store for you
– journey in the company of other men, taking a break from 'going it alone'
COURSE STRUCTURE
The course will run over 8 consecutive weeks. Each week will be focussed on a specific theme, with new content released every Sunday. This will include a video on the weeks' theme, together with a workbook with practices and additional resources.
Live Q&A calls will take place each Tuesday at 8.30pm NZST, on Zoom.
All Q&As will be recorded and available to you in case you miss one or want to watch again.
Between the live calls you will be encouraged to connect with other participants to deepen your inquiry into that week's topic. In this course, the invitation is to journey together in the company of other Men – to see what it's like to join forces, and take a break from doing it all alone.

WHY AM I OFFERING THIS COURSE?
In my work as a one-to-one coach and Mens Work facilitator, I create spaces for men to speak freely, express their fears and vulnerability, and obtain support and connection with other Men. I offer guidance and support of their self-exploration, self-realisation, personal growth and empowerment: leading to a greater sense of sovereignty and responsibility for themselves and how their life occurs. In short, I support them to find their place to stand.
There is a vital need for this in the world, but it has taken on a new imperative in light of what we face at present, and the call to step into our power, leadership and responsibility as Men to address the challenges faced by us all:
– How can we move through change and adversity, and beyond it?
– How can we be available to play an active role in the new world that is emerging?
In order to do this, we all need support to ensure we are resourced in ourselves, in order to be available to contribute our families, our communities, and the wider world.
This course is designed to provide Men with that support.
